Anita Leandro é documentarista, montadora e professora de cinema na Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Durante seis anos, dirigiu o máster profissional “Réalisation de documentaires et valorisation des archives” da universidade Bordeaux Montaigne, na França. Há quinze anos, registra narradores de textos literários no sertão mineiro, constituindo um acervo de narrações da obra de João Guimarães Rosa. Realizou o filme Retratos de identificação (2014, 73 min), prêmio do júri do Cachoeira Doc 2015 e prêmio Arco-íris do Festival del Cinema Latino Americano de Trieste, selecionado na competição internacional do FIDMarseille 2015 e em mais 17 outros festivais nacionais e internacionais. Sua pesquisa em torno das imagens da história política brasileira deu origem ao projeto Anistia 79, em curso.
Anita Leandro is a Brazilian documentary filmmaker and a Cinema Studies professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Between 2003 and 2008, she coordinated the professional master's course “Réalisation de documentaires et valorization des archives” (Documentary Filmmaking and Promotion of Archives) for the University of Bordeaux, France, in partnership with the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel (INA) and Creadoc-Documentaire de Création (Université de Poitiers). Her documentary Identification Photos (Retratos de identificação, Brazil, 2014, 73 min), which won the CachoeiraDoc jury award and Arcoiris award from the Latin American Film Festival of Trieste in 2015, is the first Brazilian movie about the mug shots produced by the political police during the military dictatorship. Identification Photos was selected by twenty festivals, including FIDMarseille, for the international competition. In addition to this film, her research into Brazilian forensic archives gave rise to the exhibition Arquivos da ditadura (Archives of the Dictatorship). In 2016, she started research for a new documentary about amnesty in Brazil. For the last 15 years, Anita Leandro has also been filming narrators of literary texts from the hinterland of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
